Preseason testing at Daytona International Speedway is set to begin this week leading up to the 56th running of the Daytona 500. Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his No. 88 National Guard team will join many other NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams for the two-day test at the 2.5-mile superspeedway.
Unlike many years in the past where single-car runs were the focus of January testing at Daytona, this week’s test will feature four drafting sessions over team’s two days on track.
Fan Fest begins Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in the Sprint Fan Zone inside the track. Earnhardt Jr. is scheduled for a Driver Chat with Matt Kenseth and Jamie McMurray at 6 p.m. ET. Fans unable to attend can watch online at www.nascar.com/liveevents. Tickets will be available at the gate on Thursday for $25 per person.
