2013 STATISTICS: After 12 races in the 2013 season, Earnhardt has earned three top-five finishes and seven top-10s. His seven top-10 results rank him tied for second overall to Johnson, who has eight.

MONSTER MILE WIN: Earnhardt's Sprint Cup win at Dover happened Sept. 23, 2001. The victory, which came in the first Cup race following Sept. 11, was the second of his sophomore season. Earnhardt displayed the American flag during his victory lap to pay tribute to the victims. In that race, he started third and led 193 laps.
LOOP DATA: Earnhardt ranked sixth among drivers in the June 2012 Dover event with an average running position of 6.348. He also ranked sixth with 98.5 percent (394 laps of 400 total) of his laps run in the top 15, according to NASCAR's loop data statistics.
DRIVER RATING: According to NASCAR's loop data statistics, Earnhardt ranked seventh in the driver rating category during the June race at Dover last year with a score of 107. The driver rating is a formula that combines wins, top-15 finishes, average running position while on the lead lap, average speed under green, fastest lap, most laps led and lead-lap finishes. The maximum a driver can earn in each race is 150 points. The driver rating number is used pre-race as a prediction tool and post-race as a performance evaluator.

DALE EARNHARDT JR. (ON DOVER INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY.): “Dover's a tough track, a track that I don't have the greatest track record on over the last several races, although we did finish in the top five last year. I’ve got confidence going in to this weekend. We're just going to try to maximize our opportunity on the racetrack.”
