Earnhardt Starting 23rd at Kansas

Dale Earnhardt Jr. will start 23rd in the STP 400 at Kansas Speedway after recording a qualifying lap of 28.676 seconds (188.311 mph). Matt Kenseth claimed the Coors Light Pole Award with a track record lap of 28.145 seconds (191.864 mph) around the 1.5-mile speedway.

Carl Edwards, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Sam Hornish Jr. and Kyle Busch make up the top five. Aric Almirola, Martin Truex Jr., Mark Martin, Ryan Newman and Clint Bowyer complete the top 10.

Teams will return to the track Saturday for a pair of practice sessions at 10 a.m. ET and 12:30 p.m. ET, respectively.
