Dale Earnhardt Jr. will start 15th in the Auto Club 400 at Auto Club Speedway. Earnhardt Jr. posted a qualifying time of 38.998 sec. (184.625 mph) around the 2-mile track. This marks Earnhardt’s best qualifying effort of the 2013 season (12th-place starting position at Las Vegas determined by points).

Denny Hamlin claimed the top spot with a time of 38.410 sec. (187.451 mph). Joining Hamlin in the top five will be Greg Biffle, Brad Keselowski, Kyle Busch and Matt Kenseth.

Sprint Cup Series teams will be on track Saturday for a pair of practice sessions beginning at 12:30 p.m. ET and 3:30 p.m. ET, respectively.
