Only two months have passed since the checkered flag waved on the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season at Homestead-Miami Speedway and teams are preparing to return to the track this week. Thursday, Friday and Saturday mark the first time Dale Earnhardt Jr., crew chief Steve Letarte and the No. 88 team will work together in 2013 when they hit the track for three days of testing at Daytona International Speedway.

The test marks Earnhardt Jr.’s second experience behind the wheel of the 2013 Chevrolet SS race car following a two-day test at Charlotte Motor Speedway in December. Teams will be preparing for the Daytona Speedweeks events, including the Sprint Unlimited, Budweiser Duels and Daytona 500, at the 2.5-mile superspeedway.
