Dale Earnhardt Jr. will start 9th in Sunday’s LENOX Industrial Tools 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Earnhardt Jr.’s No. 88 National Guard/Diet Mountain Dew Chevrolet posted a time of 133.045 mph (28.628 sec.). Kyle Busch claimed the Coors Light Pole Award with a lap of 133.417 mph (28.548 sec.).
Dale Jr. spoke optimistically about his team’s chances on Sunday during his media availability Friday morning. “I’ve just been looking forward to coming here for the race. I just hope to eventually get to victory lane one day. This weekend is as good as any.”
Kasey Kahne, Denny Hamlin, Martin Truex Jr. and Clint Bowyer make up the remainder of the top five. Ryan Newman, Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart join Dale Jr. in the bottom-half of the top 10.
NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams have a pair of practice sessions scheduled for Saturday morning at 9 a.m. ET and 11 a.m. ET, respectively. Both sessions will be televised live on Speed.
