Dale Jr., The Dale Jr. Foundation and JR Motorsports have teamed up with Team Rubicon to help aid those in need in the wake of Hurricane Florence.

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (Sept. 24, 2018) – In the aftermath of the Hurricane Florence, JR Motorsports team owner Dale Earnhardt Jr. knew that his home region would need some help putting the Category 3 storm behind it.

To that end, the 43-year-old NASCAR legend joined with Team Rubicon, an organization dedicated to helping those affected by disasters—natural and otherwise—for its efforts on behalf of the residents in the path of the hurricane.

Hurricane Florence brought severe flooding across Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. Team Rubicon has called upon 7,759 volunteers across those states to support the relief effort.

All five JR Motorsports Chevrolets which race in the NASCAR Xfinity Series carried Team Rubicon decals for last Friday’s event at Richmond (Va.) Raceway, including Earnhardt Jr.’s No. 88 Hellmann’s machine. This week, the cars of Justin Allgaier, Elliott Sadler, Tyler Reddick and Michael Annett will have the Team Rubicon signage on their cars at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

“Hurricane Florence had a tremendous effect on the Carolinas and the Mid-Atlantic region, and Team Rubicon is playing an important role in helping the region recover,” said Earnhardt Jr. “Natural disasters cause widespread damage, and Team Rubicon’s staff and volunteers are supplying the effort and resources that those affected by the storm will need as they recover from its effects. We are proud to have Team Rubicon on all five of our JR Motorsports Chevrolets this past weekend at Richmond and again this coming weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway.”

Founded in 2010, Team Rubicon unites the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders to rapidly deploy emergency response teams. With more than 85,000 volunteers across the country, Team Rubicon has responded to 297 disaster operations across the United States and around the world.

Team Rubicon is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, funded entirely by individual donors, corporations, foundations, and small businesses. All donations are tax-deductible.
