MOORESVILLE, N.C. (Aug. 8, 2018) – Following a wild weekend in Watkins Glen, the Driven to Give Gloves program from The Dale Jr. Foundation now has 36 pairs of race-worn gloves ready to auction in support of Nationwide Children’s Hospital!

During the Watkins Glen race weekend, 36 Cup and Xfinity drivers wore Dale Jr.-inspired skeleton gloves to raise awareness and funds for Nationwide Children’s. Each pair of gloves were signed by both the driver wearing them and by Dale Earnhardt Jr. Those gloves are now up for auction here.

The proceeds from the Driven to Give Glove program will benefit the Dale and Amy Earnhardt Fund at Nationwide Children’s which supports the courageous patients and their families in the area of pediatric injury rehabilitation, research and prevention.

Alex Bowman, who drove a special Nationwide Children’s paint scheme at the Glen and finished 14th, was a guest on the Dale Jr. Download this week, talking about the program and what it means to him and the kids it will impact.

“My first visit to Nationwide Children’s was a year ago,” Bowman said. “I was blown away. It’s an amazing facility, and to meet everybody up’s an amazing place. It’s really cool to see where the Dale and Amy Earnhardt Fund is being used by the Hospital, and it really puts things in perspective.”

Bowman spent a lot of time on race day at Watkins Glen with Nationwide Children’s Patient Champion Bricen Thall, and was impressed with his demeanor. “Have you ever seen a kid smile so much?,” Bowman asked during the broadcast of the Dale Jr. Download. “He hung out all weekend. I’ve literally never seen a kid smile that much.”

Earnhardt Jr. Tweeted about his visit to Nationwide Children’s with Bowman last week.
