LAS VEGAS (Nov, 30, 2017) – In recognition of his just-finished career as a full-time NASCAR Cup Series driver, Chevrolet presented Dale Earnhardt Jr. with its Lifetime Achievement Award at the annual Myers Brothers Awards as part of NASCAR Champion’s Week in Las Vegas.

“It’s been a real pleasure growing up in a Chevy family,” Earnhardt Jr. said upon receipt of the award and the Corvette. “I drive Chevys because of my dad, obviously, he always drove Chevys, and we couldn’t have had more fun. I’m going to keep on driving them. Thank you for letting me a part of the family.

“I just want to thank Chevrolet, because they’ve given us a Corvette for I don’t know how many years now for the (Dale Jr.) Foundation, and we’ve raised about $350,000 each year just for that raffle alone.

It is just the second time that Chevrolet has given the award.  In 2015, upon his retirement, Chevrolet presented the inaugural award to Jeff Gordon, Earnhardt Jr.’s teammate at Hendrick Motorsports.

Earnhardt Jr. has never driven another car make in the Cup Series, the same as Gordon, and continues his relationship with the manufacturer through a PSA partnership and his NXS teams at JR Motorsports.
