Dale Earnhardt Jr. attended the Barrett-Jackson Auctions in Scottsdale, Ariz. for the first time, hoping to sell some cars to benefit Nationwide Children’s Hospital. He got a big surprise and honor bestowed upon him and wife Amy.

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (Jan. 23, 2016) –Dale Earnhardt Jr. attended the Barrett-Jackson Auctions in Scottsdale, Ariz. for the first time,  hoping to sell some cars to benefit Nationwide Children’s Hospital. During his visit, Earnhardt Jr. got a big surprise and honor bestowed upon him and wife Amy, courtesy of Nationwide.

Long-time partner Nationwide Insurance, which is the namesake sponsor of the hospital for chronically ill children in Columbus, Ohio, renamed its Activity Room at the hospital after the Earnhardts, and it was announced while Earnhardt Jr. was present. The room, located on the Rehabilitation Floor, is one that Earnhardt Jr. has visited the past two years, meeting some of the Nationwide Patient Champions as well.

The cars auctioned for the hospital earned $400,000.
