Three in a row at 'Dega? Sure, why not. Dale Jr. made it a Talladega sweep in 2002 with his win in the EA Sports 500. With NASCAR mandating smaller fuel cells for the event, the No. 8 Bud crew used superior fuel economy to its advantage, stretching a tank of fuel, on average, nearly four laps longer than other teams. Junior led the most laps (56) for the third time in 2002, and outlasted Tony Stewart and Ricky Rudd to take the checkered flag. It marked the first time since Buddy Baker in 1976 that a driver had won three consecutive races at Talladega. He also became the first driver to win both Talladega races in the same year since his father did it in 1999.
